The Dallas Cowboys own the No. 26 overall pick in the NFL Draft, and several analysts believe they should do whatever it takes to land Bijan Robinson.

As terrifying as it would be to pair Micah Parsons with another pass rusher or interior defensive lineman, it’s easy to see why Robinson is all the rage.

The consensus RB1 in this year’s class and a top-five prospect overall, draft experts universally agree that Robinson will be an immediate star at the next level. He’ll in all likelihood contend for Offensive Rookie of the Year and could even challenge for the rushing title if he lands in the right spot.

That wouldn’t happen if the Cowboys drafted Robinson given Tony Pollard is returning on the franchise tag, but it goes without saying the former Texas Longhorn would escalate the ceiling of a Dallas offense that already added Brandin Cooks to its wide receiver room this offseason.

It’ll be interesting to see if Robinson ends up with the Cowboys, but the speculation and excitement isn’t going to flame out anytime soon after the coveted running back worked out with none other than Micah Parsons.

Cowboys’ Micah Parsons working out with potential draft target Bijan Robinson

This clip surely won’t cause a raucous on Cowboys Twitter.

The idea of drafting Robinson in Round 1 is polarizing to say the least. The running back class is incredibly deep this year, but the concept of netting a top-five prospect with one of the final picks of the first round is value that’d be hard to bypass, especially knowing how much Jerry Jones loves a ostentatious move.

Robinson wasn’t the only potential Dallas draft target in attendance, however. Robinson’s Texas teammate and backfield partner Roschon Johnson was there with Parsons and trainer Mo Wells, as was Lions back D’Andre Swift.

The Cowboys had a formal visit with Johnson at the Combine, and later scheduled a private workout with the former Longhorn.

Regarded as a Day 3 pick, Johnson had the highest broken tackle rate in the country over the last two seasons with a whopping 85 broken tackles on 189 attempts and his punishing running style profiles as a perfect complement to the speedy and elusive Pollard.

Check out some of these advanced stats on Johnson.

Cowboys schedule top-30 visit with Jaxon Smith-Njigba

In other draft-related news, the Cowboys added Ohio State receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba to their top 30 prospect visits.

A hamstring injury derailed Smith-Njigba’s final season in Columbus after he exploded for 95 catches for 1,606 yards and nine TDs in 2021. He’s still a virtual lock to go in the first round, and seemingly has leapfrogged TCU’s Quentin Johnston — another Dallas top 30 visit — as the consensus WR1 in the class.

Smith-Njigba would be a home run first-round selection or the Cowboys. Though it’s unlikely he drops to pick No. 26, it’s great to see Dallas continue to do its due diligence on this year’s top receivers and makes you wonder if they’re giving serious thought to taking one early.
