Cowboys Rumors: Trevon Diggs’ Twitter likes hint at scary NFC East rival trade
By Jerry Trotta
The Dallas Cowboys might not be done adding to their wide receiver room. With Brandin Cooks joining CeeDee Lamb and Michael Gallup, Trevon Diggs and Dallas’ corners are going to have all they can handle in practice.
While the Cowboys have met with several touted prospects, including TCU’s Quentin Johnston and North Carolina’s Josh Downs, and hosted vet Laquon Treadwell for a free agent visit, you can likely rule out another big-time splash.
DeAndre Hopkins is still available and Odell Beckham is still floating around in free agency, though all signs point to him joining the Jets, while the 49ers’ Brandon Aiyuk and Bengals’ Tee Higgins have popped up on the rumor mill.
Another potential trade candidate who’s flown under the radar amid the free agent frenzy, however, is Bills star Trevon Diggs.
The Cooks trade took Dallas out of the running for Diggs, who’s been disgruntled ever since Buffalo’s playoff loss to the Bengals. With that, another NFC East team — the NY Giants — have become a potential Diggs landing spot.

Cowboys Rumors: Are the Giants scheming a trade for Stefon Diggs?
What…what do we have here?
Before you dismiss this as a potential story, allow us to enlighten you on other recent cryptic Twitter activity from the Diggs bros. On top of liking a tweet about his older brother being traded to the Giants, the Cowboys’ Diggs tweeted “We could play each other twice a year” with the popcorn emoji late Saturday night.
This comes after the Bills’ Diggs penned a cryptic tweet of his own.
Is Diggs telling the Giants to come and rescue him from Buffalo? Are the Diggs brothers, ever-active on social media, partaking in some April Fool’s shenanigans? If so, they’re a day late, but would anyone put it past them?
It’s impossible to say. There’s been nothing reported to suggest New York is shopping for a receiver. They added Parris Campbell and Jamison Crowder in free agency and re-signed both Sterling Shepard and Darius Slayton to pair with pleasant surprise Isaiah Hodgins and 2022 draft pick Wan’Dale Robinson.
It’s long felt like the Giants next WR splash will come in the draft, potentially as early as the first round, where they pick right before the Cowboys.
On the flip side, though, trade rumors have followed Diggs ever since the Bills’ playoff loss, and his connections to Giants GM Joe Schoen and head coach Brian Daboll go without saying since they came from Buffalo.
Who knows what it all means, but we think we speak for all Cowboys fans that Diggs landing with the Giants wouldn’t be great for Dallas.
