Sean Murphy-Bunting – Cornerback

Position Criteria: Height: 6’0, Weight: 200lbs, 33′ arm length

PFF Grade: 76.6

The Cowboys need secondary help but they can’t rely on a rookie to come in and make an immediate impact thanks to how far down in the draft they are. Signing a veteran makes sense and a player that fits the Dan Quinn cornerback mold is Murphy-Bunting from the Buccaneers. His size and length make him an ideal fit in Quinn’s scheme and his aggressive nature shows up on the field in the passing game and running game. Adding him on a short deal makes sense for Dallas because they can take a cornerback later in the draft that can develop and take over at the end of Murphy-Bunting’s contract.

Marlon Mack – Running back

Position Criteria: Height: 5’10, Weight: 210lbs, 4.4 speed

PFF Grade: 86.2

Many are assuming that Ezekiel Elliott’s time with the Cowboys will be coming to an end during this current offseason and with Tony Pollard coming off an ankle/leg injury the Cowboys need a veteran insurance plan that can help this team in case of injury. Mack makes perfect sense for this team, specifically Mike McCarthy, he fits the mold of running backs taken by McCarthy he can run and catch making him a dual-threat weapon for McCarthy to use. Mack wouldn’t compete to take Pollard’s spot but he would be a nice complement for Pollard and this offense.
