Cowboys Free Agent Tracker: Who is coming and going in 2023?
By Jerry Trotta
In a pleasant surprise, the Dallas Cowboys are officially on the board in free agency after they re-signed Donovan Wilson to a three-year deal. There was widespread concern amongst team reporters (not just fans) that Wilson would have a muscular market and ultimately sign elsewhere for a big contract.
The legal tampering period is more than 24 hours old now, and deals are still being announced left and right. Agreements can’t be made official until Wednesday at 4 p.m. ET, which marks the start of the new league year.
Fans can expect the frenzy to continue for the next several days as the market for a number of positions, including wide receiver, comes into focus.
It remains to be seen how active the Cowboys will be in free agency. They’ll likely be players in the second and third waves more so than the first. In the meantime, here’s a tracker of who’s coming and going and Dallas

Cowboys 2023 Free Agent Re-Signings
- Tony Pollard (franchise tag)
- Donovan Wilson (three years, $24 million)
- Leighton Vander Esch (two years, $11 million)
Pollard and Wilson were Dallas’ two biggest free agents so the organization deserves credit for bringing them back. The team is still negotiating with Leighton Vander Esch, though Bobby Okereke’s deal with the Giants (four years, $40 million with $22 million guaranteed) has increased his price tag. Jane Slater of the NFL Network is hearing Vander Esch’s baseline will be around $7 million per year.

- Connor McGovern signed with the Bills on a three-year, $23 million deal
- Luke Gifford signed with the Titans on a two-year, $5 million
- Noah Brown signed with the Texans on a one-year deal.
This tracker will continue to be updated with each subsequent Cowboys move.
