It’s unclear how the Dallas Cowboys will address the wide receiver position. Stephen Jones admitted the position could use a little more firepower, and the Cowboys have no shortage of avenues to improve the position.

Whether it be free agency, the draft, or the trade market, Dallas has ample talent to choose from. At this point, fans don’t care how the WR position is upgraded. So long as CeeDee Lamb has a new No. 2 (or No. 3 if Michael Gallup bounces back from a down 2022), that’s all that matters at the end of the day.

As far as tradable receivers are concerned, it could be slim pickings this offseason after Davante Adams, Tyreek Hill, AJ Brown, and Amari Cooper were moved last year. The market is still coming together in early March.

One name that’s been floated as a trade candidate is Tee Higgins. The Bengals standout is approaching the final year of his rookie contract, and analysts have speculated whether Cincinnati should cash in on him now before the bill comes due on Joe Burrow and Ja’Marr Chase’s rookie deals.

Turns out, the Bengals have zero intention of trading Higgins.

“I’m not in the business of making other teams better,” Bengals GM Duke Tobin said at the Combine. “I’m in the business of making Bengals better. Trading Tee Higgins is not on my mind. They want a receiver? Go find your own. The trade stuff is a little ridiculous right now.”

More Cowboys News:

  • Cowboys fans might recall Michael Irvin getting axed from NFL Network’s Super Bowl coverage after a female employee issued a misconduct complaint against Irvin during a brief conversation with him in the lobby of a Marriott hotel. Irvin was relocated to a different hotel, and didn’t make his guest appearance on ESPN’s “First Take” that Friday as a result.
  • The Hall of Fame receiver responded with a $100 million defamation lawsuit. Marriott has since been ordered by a judge to release footage of Irvin and the woman’s altercation and the name of the accuser, but the hotel hasn’t cooperated. Now, Marriott has requested a federal judge to dismiss Irvin’s lawsuit entirely, or move the case to Arizona.
  • According to The Athletic’s Daniel Kaplan, Irvin “named three witnesses who say are described as saying they did not see him misbehave as alleged the Sunday before the Super Bowl in a hotel lobby, an allegation that got him knocked of NFL Network and led to his defamation lawsuit against Marriott.”
  • On Wednesday, a federal judge ordered Marriott to provide Irvin any and all video recordings, written reports, and witness statements. Marriott has until March 7 to comply. Things are certainly trending in Irvin’s favor.

NFL News:

  • Georgia star Jalen Carter has been charged with reckless driving and racing in connection to a car that killed a teammate and Bulldogs recruiting staff member. Carter is widely viewed as a top-five pick in the 2023 draft, and it’ll be interesting to see how this news (if at all) impacts his draft status.
  • Aaron Rodgers’ four-day darkness retreat went swimmingly. While the Packers quarterback hasn’t decided on his future, he revealed during an appearance on the “Aubrey Marcus Podcast” that a decision is coming soon. It appears Rodgers has three options on the table: retire, return to Green Bay, or agree to a trade to another team.
