There are three impact players the Cowboys could draft to immediately increase their Super Bowl odds and move from merely a “good team” to true contenders. With important decisions ahead about players like Ezekiel Elliot and Tony Pollard, it’s imperative the Cowboys nail this draft.

3 NFL Draft Picks Cowboys Should Target

The Cowboys have the sixth-best odds to win the Super Bowl next year and the third-best in the NFC. By shoring up depth at a couple of positions, Dallas may move even higher up the leaderboard.

Joey Porter Jr., CB – Penn State

Dallas has a need at cornerback with Anthony Brown heading to free agency. With Trevon Diggs and DaRon Bland proving effective, Porter Jr. would immediately give the Cowboys one of the NFC’s better secondaries.

Porter Jr. had eight pass breakups this year and dominated in press coverage. He routinely lined up against stars like Chris Olave, Garrett Wilson, and Marvin Harrison Jr. and fared well. In fact, he held the Buckeyes to just 45 yards in 73 coverage snaps in his final two games against Ohio State.

With all of the talented wide receivers in the NFC, Porter Jr. would provide a huge boost to Dallas’ defense.

Keion White, DL – Georgia Tech

Good pass rushers are like good potato chips, you can never have too many. White is an athletic beast at 6-foot-5 and 285 pounds who would form a deadly trio with Micah Parsons and Demarcus Lawrence off the edge.

White had 7.5 sacks this season for Georgia Tech and came on strong at the end of the year against high-quality competition, highlighted by his three-sack performance against North Carolina.

Giving White an opportunity to learn alongside Parsons and Lawrence would be fantastic for his development, and he could step into Lawrence’s role if the star rusher declines at all over the next couple of seasons.

Jalin Hyatt, WR – Tennessee

Hyatt is one of my favorite players in this draft class. His speed and ability to win down the field would be a perfect boon to a Cowboys’ offense that lacked explosiveness outside of CeeDee Lamb and Tony Pollard.

Perhaps the best deep-ball threat in the class, Hyatt averaged 18.9 yards per catch on 67 receptions with 15 TDs this year.

Just try watching that without envisioning Dak uncorking deep passes for long TDs. It would open up more space for Elliot or Pollard to operate out of the backfield as well. If he’s available in the second round, Hyatt should be a priority for Dallas.
