During his fourth season with the Dallas Cowboys, Tony Pollard finally got the touches he deserved — and he didn’t disappoint. Pollard had three games with at least 100 yards, one with 91, and three with at least 70.

He also had a 109-yard receiving day against Minnesota in a huge Week 11 win. In all, he had 1,378 yards from scrimmage and 12 touchdowns. And since Dallas refused to give him enough touches early in his career, he now hits free agency with very little wear on his tires.

The Cowboys would surely like to bring him back but their extremely foolish decision to extend Ezekiel Elliott in 2019 still haunts their cap space. For that reason, one of these five teams could swoop in and steal him away.

5. Arizona Cardinals

With James Conner under contract now, the Arizona Cardinals were willing to sign free-agent running backs under general manager Steve Keim. They’re still working to put all the pieces together but Conner’s addition was a positive one as he has 1,534 yards and 22 yards on the ground in two seasons.

Listed at 233 pounds, Connor is a bulldozer and could work in unison with the more explosive Pollard. That’s similar to what we saw this year with Zeke taking the short-yardage carries while Pollard did the damage between the 20s.

A similar plan could be a huge benefit for Pollard as well as the Cardinals who need a shot in the arm to get their offense back on track.
