The Dallas Cowboys gave us a great game last week beating the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and making the great Tom Brady look mortal at the same time. They weren’t able to really celebrate the victory, though, as they immediately turned their focus to facing off against their toughest opponent to date this season, the San Francisco 49ers.

To the Cowboys this upcoming game is about more than just getting revenge. It’s about proving to themselves and the world that no one is going to physically maul them as the 49ers did in last year’s Wild Card playoff loss.

This San Francisco team has been in the minds of the Cowboys organization since that loss and now they have the chance to return the favor by beating them on their home field much as the 49ers did to them last year.

It’s going to be a very physical game and one that could come down to which team makes the first mistake. It’s not going to be easy for either team but I have a few predictions as to how this game could play out, so let’s get into this week’s four bold predictions.

4. Time Heals all Wounds

Last week for Maher was probably the worst week of his entire career, we know it was for any kicker in playoff history. Fortunately for Maher, he will have a chance to redeem himself in a short week. His issues aren’t of a physical nature but more mental and we know that time heals all wounds, even if that time period is shorter than most. Maher was able to make his final kick of the game and that alone should give him confidence going into this 49ers game.

The Cowboys are going to need Maher this week against a tough 49ers defense. They need their kicker to have confidence in himself to go out and block out all of the negative coverage and just do what he does best: make kicks. That’s exactly what he’s going to do Sunday. While he won’t need to make a game-winner, he will return to form at the best time possible.

Game Prediction: Maher is perfect on the day making three field goals and three extra points.
