6. Micah Parsons’ rookie season was no fluke

While there weren’t too many skeptics, some wondered if Micah Parsons was a bit overhyped after his impressive rookie season. Some rookies find immediate success because of the lack of film on them, so teams can’t game plan against them.

However, this season proved Parsons is the real deal. After recording 13 sacks in year one, he did even better in year two with 13.5. He also had around 90 pressures on the year, which is among the league’s best and increased from 67 the year before.

Parsons was yet again the engine of this defense, which had one of the best pass rushes of any team this year. Having split time between linebacker and defensive end makes it that much more impressive.

No. 11 somehow took another step from his rookie year and is no doubt in the running for Defensive Player of the Year. Parsons solidified himself this year as not only one of the best defenders, but one of the best players in the NFL.
