It feels as though the 2022 season just started, yet here we are in the final week of the season. For the Dallas Cowboys, they’ll finish the year out on the road against the Washington Commanders.

Washington is coming off two losses in Week 17. First, they lost on the field as the Cleveland Browns won 24-10 thanks to a hot second half from Deshaun Watson and Amari Cooper — who we miss dearly.

After the game, they lost again as the Browns social media account had some fun at their expense following the unveiling of “Commander Tuddy.”

Washington is going to be looking to stop the bleeding this Sunday but it won’t be easy for them. Dallas has had their number for the past several seasons and even won 25-10 in Week 4 while Cooper Rush was starting.

Here, we look at three reasons the Cowboys should be able to secure their 13th win of the season and end the Commanders’ season in disappointment.

3. Washington is falling apart

Some teams might have been bothered by that social media post, but Washington has gotten used to taking losses as of late. They had gone on quite the run with Taylor Heinicke, winning six of seven games. Then, things completely fell apart.

They had a 20-20 tie with the New York Giants, then had their bye week before a rematch at home on Sunday Night Football. New York beat them 20-12 and they were suddenly falling down the NFC East ladder.

Things have not improved as they lost 37-20 to the San Francisco 49ers before the 24-10 loss to Cleveland, which effectively knocked them out of playoff contention after the Packers’ beatdown of the Vikings. That means they’re on a 0-3-1 skid with all the last two losses coming by at least two touchdowns.

Meanwhile, Dallas is coming off a 27-13 win — after dropping 40 on the Eagles the week prior. These teams are going in opposite directions, which isn’t good for the home team.
