6 major takeaways from the Cowboys’ meltdown loss against the Jaguars
4. Cowboys Need More Out of Their Wide Receivers
As expected coming into the season, this offense still needs wide receiver help. While it was fun to see Noah Brown break out this season, he has reminded us that he is still just a fine receiver, and not a great one yet.
CeeDee Lamb played a great game on Sunday, as is usually the case almost every week. Michael Gallup was nowhere to be found, as was James Washington. This team only can get consistent production from Lamb, week-in and week-out, and that has proven to be an issue.
On the outside, it looked like Brown had a great game, which for the most part, he did. However, he did lose the game at the end by not being able to reel in a catch right between the numbers, which bounced into the hands of Rayshawn Jenkins. Jenkins quickly took it to the house.
As for Gallup, he ended the match with just one catch for two yards. Lamb had seven catches for 126 yards. The offense needs more consistency at wide receiver, or perhaps a pair of fresh legs. Maybe newly-acquired T.Y Hilton could create a spark, or another receiver in the rumor mill.
