Week 17 at Tennessee Titans

In Week 11, we saw the Tennessee Titans do what the Cowboys could not — hold a lead against the Green Bay Packers. The way Aaron Rodgers and the Packers performed against Tennessee was infuriating to watch since it proved they were the same team that had lost five in a row. Even so, they looked like a team led by Rodgers in his prime when playing Dallas.

There’s a lot to unpack there and the biggest reason for the emotional letdown was surely the love fest Mike McCarthy had for his former team. Rather than focus on beating them, he seemed to worry about how happy he was to be back on the field in Lambeau.

Anyway, the Titans’ performance also showed they can dominate on the ground and that’s the area this defense struggles most. Tennessee wins at home as Dallas goes 3-1 against the AFC South.

Prediction: Titans 26, Cowboys 19

Week 18 at Washington Commanders

With Taylor Heinicke under center, the Washington Commanders have been playing much better. That means this one won’t be as easy as when Dallas won 25-10 at the beginning of October with Carson Wentz playing for Washington.

Still, Heinicke hasn’t had success against this defense losing 27-20 in Week 14 last season followed by a 56-14 loss in Week 16. That came after the crowd infamously chanted “we want Dallas” before the Cowboys reminded them they indeed did not want Dallas.

The only way this one isn’t a win for the ‘Boys is if they have nothing to play for. But they’re likely going to still be trying to either win the East or get better positioning in the playoffs. That doesn’t bode well for the Commanders.

Prediction: Cowboys 37, Commanders 28
