3 reasons the Cowboys will beat the Giants on Thanksgiving
By Mark Heaney
The Cowboys are fresh off a surprise blowout win over the Vikings, and they have their sights set on becoming 8-3. If they win this Thanksgiving matchup, they could show everybody they really are an elite team this season.
One potential issue? They will have to get past their division rival, the 7-3 New York Giants first.
It has been a surprising year, to say the least from “Big Blue”. Increased production from QB Daniel Jones, a revived and healthy Saquon Barkley, and fantastic leadership from new HC Brain Daboll has them firmly in the hunt for an NFC East title.
Both teams will face challenges in this one, and the Cowboys will have to get past their rough recent history will Thanksgiving games. One thing is for certain though, whoever can win this game can essentially knock the other out of contention for a division title.
It won’t be easy, but I believe Dallas has all the makings of coming out with a win this week.

3. The Giants might be “fake good”
While New York has enjoyed more success this year than in any year in recent memory, it is hard to ignore just how they have gotten to this point. It has not been easy sledding for this team, and the results of their games prove that.
Over their 7 wins to this point, the largest margin of victory was two eight-point wins over the 3-8 Chicago Bears, and the 1-8-1 Houston Texans, while their losses in include games against the Lions, Seahawks, and Cooper Rush-led Cowboys. That, my friends, is not impressive.
In fact, 5 of their 7 wins this season have come against teams that would pick in the top twelve of the 2023 Draft if the season ended today. The two remaining wins were decided by a combined four-point margin against the Titans and Ravens.
You can’t completely discount their record. It is not easy to be 7-3 in the NFL, especially considering the injuries they have dealt with at times. However, it is hard not to see the possibility that perhaps they have been more lucky than good.
The Giants will have their moment to prove this narrative wrong on Thursday, but I have a feeling the Cowboys might not give them the chance that they are hoping for.
