Cowboys vs Packers early prediction and odds for Week 10 NFC battle
By fansided
The Dallas Cowboys are coming off the bye week and headed to the Frozen Tundra for what was supposed to be one of their toughest battles of the year. This isn’t to say that making a trip to Lambeau Field in November will be easy, but the Green Bay Packers look like a shell of themselves this season.
With rest helping players like Ezekiel Elliott, Jayron Kearse, Malik Hooker, Sam Williams, and Noah Brown, the hope is that Dallas used their off week to rest up and get ready to take on a quarterback who loves to beat the Cowboys in Aaron Rodgers.
This game is also important because it marks the first time the Cowboys’ current head coach Mike McCarthy will return to Green Bay since being fired by the Packers four years ago. When asked about the return, McCarthy said he was just focused on the win, but did get emotional when talking about missing the people and that his daughters were born there.
The Cowboys’ last performance was a dominating one against the Chicago Bears in Week 8 in which Dak Prescott looked the best he has in weeks. The Packers are coming off an embarrassing loss to the Detroit Lions where Aaron Jones hurt his ankle.
Cowboys vs Packers Odds, Spread, Moneyline for Week 10
At the time of writing, the Week 10 betting odds on FanDuel have Dallas as 5.0-point favorites on the road in Green Bay on Sunday. Dallas is -225 on the moneyline, while the Packers are underdogs at +188. The total for the game is set at 42.5 points.
For the Cowboys to be five-point favorites in this game is a big deal. Lambeau Field tends to have a much greater home-field advantage than most stadiums and this shows the oddsmakers really feel Dallas has the advantage here.
With Green Bay only scoring a measly nine points against one of the worst defenses in football last week, the total does seem a bit high for this one, once again. However, with Dallas putting 49 points up against a solid Bears defense, you just never know.
Cowboys vs Packers Prediction and Preview for Week 10
We never want to count out an opponent but the reality is that the Packers have been in a horrible funk lately and now may be without both Aaron Jones and Romeo Doubs. Their chances of making the playoffs are virtually impossible at this point after being one of the Super Bowl favorites before the season started.
McCarthy will be thrilled to take advantage of his old team and stack up the score no matter how much he respects Rodgers.
The Cowboys are now 6-1 against the spread over their last seven games after covering a 10.5-point spread in Week 8 against Chicago. Although Dallas is 1-8 in their last nine games against Green Bay, this seems like a prime opportunity to change the tide against a team coming off of five straight losses.
On paper, this one leans towards Dallas. However, you never know what will happen when you enter the Frozen Tundra.
We believe the Cowboys will finally get to hand Rodgers a loss by a score of 24-10.
