4. Sam Williams needs more snaps

It has been a while since we’ve seen a rookie break out on the defensive side of the ball. Well, Micah Parsons did do that all year last year, however, Sunday may have shined a light on who’s up next, and that is Sam Williams.

To start the season, the second-round pick was seeing very few snaps in a loaded defensive line. However, over the past couple of weeks, he’s been given more snaps and looks better and better as time goes by.

Against the Lions, Williams may have had his breakout game. The Ole Miss product was everywhere on the field, recording three tackles, two sacks, two tackles for loss, and a strip-sack that helped put the game away.

No. 54 was a controversial pick of the draft weekend as several fans thought he was picked too early. Some even said they should have picked what would be the Cowboys’ next pick in Jalen Tolbert instead of Williams. Well, here we are, and one of those players looked like the best player on the field on Sunday, and the other was Tolbert.
