2. KaVontae Turpin is really good at what he does

The front office certainly improved its special teams over the offseason. Bringing back punter Bryan Anger was a good move as he’s been solid this year outside of a couple of bad punts. Brett Maher also looks like one of the best kickers in the NFL through seven weeks.

However, the most exciting addition to the unit has to be KaVontae Turpin. Although he has yet to find the endzone in the regular season, he constantly is setting up the offense extremely well with his returns.

Going into the contest against the Lions, Turpin ranked fourth in the NFL in average yards per kick return. He also is one of the best in returning punts, ranking second in the league in average yards per punt return entering Week 7.

He strengthened his case as the best return man in football on Sunday, recording an average of 33 yards per punt return. This includes a 52-yard play where he nearly took it to the house. He is a great story, and he should continue to be featured in the return game, along with hopefully finding more snaps on offense.
