The Dallas Cowboys defeated the Detroit Lions by a score of 24-6, but it would be unfair to call it a dominant win. The Cowboys couldn’t score more than three points in the first half due to an incredibly slow start from their offense.

By the end of the game, things were looking much brighter for Dallas. The run game looked stellar and the defense forced five turnovers in the second half of the game. In his return, Dak Prescott went 19 for 25 and threw for 207 yards and a touchdown.

Now, the Cowboys are 5-2 and ready to take on a struggling Chicago Bears team at home at AT&T Stadium.

Before their Monday Night Football victory over the Patriots, Chicago had lost three consecutive games and was averaging a dismal 15.5 points per contest. They clearly made some changes during their 10-day bye, albeit against a weak Patriots team, to put together an impressive 33-14 win in Foxborough.

They’ll carry this momentum to Dallas and hope to take down a much stronger Cowboys team.

Cowboys vs Bears Odds, Spread, Moneyline for Week 8

At the time of writing, the Week 8 betting odds on FanDuel have the Cowboys as 9.5-point favorites at home against the Bears on Sunday. Dallas is -460 on the moneyline, while the Bears are underdogs at +360. The total for the game is set at 42.5 points.

The Cowboys opened up on Sunday evening as 10.5-point favorites before the Bears played their Monday Night Football game, meaning the oddsmakers adjusted a bit after seeing Chicago win, but not by much.

Yet again, the oddsmakers are giving this game a decently high total on the game despite knowing Chicago has had a very rough time scoring points on offense, and knowing that Dallas has one of the strongest defenses in the NFL, that only gave more than 19 points up to the Philadelphia Eagles.

Cowboys vs Bears Prediction and Preview for Week 8

This should be an incredibly easy game for the Cowboys. The Bears are coming off of limited rest and already struggle with protecting the pass rush which is one of Dallas’s strongest attributes.

We expect this one to be a low-scoring game. Both teams struggle in the red zone, but Kellen Moore and the Dallas offense hopefully learned from their slow first half against Detroit and will make smarter decisions in Week 8. With more game experience and some time to figure things out, the hope is that Prescott will have more of a groove with his receivers and that the run game will continue to excel.

Although Chicago looked much improved after their bye week by putting up 33 points and forcing four turnovers, it’s still fair to feel that the Cowboys have a clear advantage on both sides of the ball in this one.

This Cowboys team is just too strong for the Bears on both offense and defense. We think the Cowboys will take this one 27-3.
