3. The return of Michael Gallup brought balance to the offense

After suffering a torn ACL against the Arizona Cardinals last year, Michael Gallup made his long-awaited return to the field. Although he didn’t play a huge majority of the snaps, he certainly made his presence felt.

On three targets on the night, the WR2 caught two passes for 24 yards. Not the most wowing statline, but he also caught a touchdown near the end of the second quarter, making a big-time impact in his first game back from the injury.

While it doesn’t show up on the average stat sheet, he was one of the best players on the field and really helped move the team down the field, but not in the way you would think. The fifth-year pass-catcher drew 65 yards in penalties.

Regardless of the yards he accumulated, he made the offense look a lot more balanced when he was on the field. The team has been mostly run-heavy to start the year, but he helped jumpstart the passing attack.
