Cowboys studs and duds Week 4: Trevon Diggs deflects narrative
By Randy Gurzi
Stud: Trevon Diggs, CB
He led the NFL in interceptions with 11 last season but all anyone wanted to talk about was how many yards Trevon Diggs surrendered. On Sunday, he did his best to deflect that narrative away for good.
Paired up with Terry McLaurin, Diggs shut him down, holding him to just 15 yards on two receptions. He also forced two turnovers on downs late in the game. First was when he swatted down a pass into the end zone (intended for McLaurin) on fourth-down-and-15. Two drives later, he broke up a fourth-and-two pass, again intended for McLaurin.

Diggs also had a pick to close out the first half, giving him two on the season. He continues to prove he’s one of the best corners in the game and has only been getting better.
Dud: Tony Pollard, RB
In the early part of the season, Tony Pollard has been a stud. He even entered this game fresh off of his first 100-yard outing of the season but went in the wrong direction against Washington.
Pollard had eight carries but gained just six yards. He added two yards on one reception, making it easily his worst outing of the season, which was quite surprising. Not everything was his fault as the offensive line gave him little room to work with and even Ezekiel Elliott had a rough day with 49 yards on 19 carries. However, this wasn’t the caliber of play we are used to seeing from No. 20.
