1. Dan Quinn is destroying offenses

The best move for Dallas this offseason was being able to somehow keep Dan Quinn on their coaching staff. The former Atlanta Falcons head coach was a hot name in the head coaching search and he surely deserved one of the open spots given what he did with this defense in 2021. Despite this, he’s still running the defense in Big D which is a Big W for them.

As impressive as their turnaround was during his first season in Dallas, Quinn has been even better this year. Through three games, they have yet to give up 20 points, even holding Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Bucs to 19 and Joe Burrow and the Cincinnati Bengals to 17.

The Giants don’t have an explosive offense by any means, but they were limited to just 16 points. They’ve also made life miserable for the quarterbacks they face with their relentless pass rush and aggressive blitzing.

Brady was pressured often but due to his quick release, he was sacked just two times. But then in their two wins, the Dallas D was camped in the backfield as they sacked Burrow seven times and Jones five times.

For Jones, it would have been much worse if he wasn’t as athletic as he is. His talent as a runner led to him taking off and rushing for 79 yards as he found space whenever he did avoid the blitz.

Looking ahead to Washington, Wentz isn’t as nimble as Jones. This isn’t to say he’s a statue by any means, but he’s not going to carve the defense up with his legs. Instead, he could be in for another night where he’s sacked constantly as he was against the Eagles.

Quinn surely watched that game and came away smiling knowing he was about to unleash his edge rushers in Week 4.
