A rough loss in Week 1 was followed by a sense of doom as the Dallas Cowboys fell to 0-1 and were waiting to see how long Dak Prescott would be out following surgery on his thumb. Two games have passed since then and things feel much different.

The Cowboys shocked the Cincinnati Bengals with a three-point win thanks to a 50-yard field from Brett Maher at the end of the game. That was followed up with a win over the New York Giants, which knocked them down a peg following a 2-0 start.

In Week 4, Dallas will again be without Prescott but there’s still plenty of reason for optimism now that they’re riding high on a two-game winning streak. Here we look ahead to their matchup with the Washington Commanders and identify five reasons the Cowboys will walk away with another win against a divisional rival.

5. The OL is improving

It wasn’t all pretty, and there were still far too many flags, but the Cowboys’ offensive line has been showing a lot of improvement in recent weeks. On Monday night, they were especially efficient as Cooper Rush wasn’t sacked once and there were huge holes for the running game to make some big plays.

They even got Jason Peters in on the fun as the massive veteran took a few series at left guard. When he was on the field, he played very well. Hopefully, he will get more time as the season goes along since he had such a positive impact on the ground game.

With the line performing at such a high level, there’s no reason to think they won’t have their way on that side of the ball and put up too many points for Washington to keep pace.
