3. Michael Gallup Returns with a Vengence
Many of us were expecting the return of Michael Gallup in the Giants game last week but we got the debut of rookie third-round pick, Jalen Tolbert, instead. This week, the Cowboys are ramping up Gallups reps in practice and it looks like he will be making his return this week against the Commanders.
With the emergence of Noah Brown, who is starting in Gallup’s place, the Cowboys will be fielding a good trio of receivers for the first time this season.
CeeDee Lamb on how much having Michael Gallup back will impact the coverage Lamb sees: “A lot. If not, he’s gonna have a day.”

The addition of Gallup gives this Cowboys offense another deep threat and takes some of the pressure off of CeeDee Lamb. Gallup also brings great body control which makes him a nice third-down target on the sidelines, which is great news for Cooper Rush and this Dallas offense. You can expect the safeties facing the Cowboys to start dropping back into coverage more now with Gallup back in the lineup, allowing more chances for Ezekiel Elliott and Tony Pollard to break off big runs.
It will be interesting to see what the Cowboys do in order to put Gallup back on the roster. They are going to have to release someone. Whoever it is will hopefully be able to make it back to the practice squad.
