There may be a lot of negativity and fear around what is going to happen with the rest of the Dallas Cowboys season, but one thing we can all celebrate is that Micah Parsons is a member of this roster and he is absolutely incredible at football.

In an otherwise bleak and hard-to-watch game, the linebacker showed the NFL that he has no plans of slowing down in Year 2 and will carry this team on his own back if he needs to. That was very clear to everyone, except for the game makers of Madden 23.

Currently, Parsons has a Madden rating of 88. We know he is still a young player, but an 88 seems egregious. In terms of linebackers (middle, left, or right), that means the Cowboys stud is rated lower than:

  • T.J. Watt (96)
  • Fred Warner (94)
  • Demario Davis (93)
  • Khalil Mack (92)
  • Lavonte David (92)
  • Bobby Wagner (91)
  • Joey Bosa (91)
  • Chandler Jones (90)
  • Shaquille Leonard (90)
  • Rashan Gary (89)
  • Roquan Smith (89)

Parsons, an avid Madden player himself, was not so happy with his rating. On Tuesday, he posted a video on Twitter expressing his disappointment.

"“Yo. Bro. You know who it is. I need you to call this number for me. Madden did me so wrong. They obviously didn’t see my man to zone coverage from this past season… being one of the only linebackers… not the only one, but one of a few that didn’t give up a touchdown all year. Obviously, Madden didn’t see that at all. And I was top five in all passing ratings. So I need you to call this number so they can fix my man to zone coverage.”"

Apparently, Madden has provided a hotline for people to air their grievances with ratings on the famous video game. The hotline voicemail is hilariously recorded by Chad Ochocinco Johnson who informs people to leave a detailed message explaining why someone deserves a better rating than they currently have.

We are sure many called on Parsons’ behalf, but one of those callers may shock you.

Former Eagles DE Chris Long calls Madden hotline to complain about Micah Parsons’ rating

On his podcast “Green Light with Chris Long,” former Philadelphia Eagles DE, Chris Long, decided to end his show by calling the hotline on behalf of a player from an enemy team. He even apologized to Eagles fans in his tweet saying he had to go to bat for a Cowboys player because of how ridiculous the situation was.

Long wasted no time getting to the point. Here’s how the phone call began:

"“Hi, this is Chris Long, former defensive end for the NFL. I used to rush the passer a lot. And let me just tell you… I was once like a 90 in your game. I could never do anything that Micah Parsons can do. I was supposed to leave my age, I’m 37."

This is coming from a man who knows a lot about this league and comes from an established football family. He continues:

"“You guys are a bunch of idiots. Honestly. I used to play for the Eagles. I’m not even a Cowboys fan. In fact, I kinda hate ’em. He’s just like 10 points better than anybody on that team. I mean, I saw some of your other ratings. I wasn’t going to call you. But Micah Parsons left the number on Twitter, so I decided that I would call and give you a piece of my mind. And Chad Johnson is on your answering machine. He’s a friend of the program. He would never f***ing rate Micah Parsons an 88. What are you guys smoking over there?”"

The phone call is actually pretty funny. We highly recommend listening to it.

Plus, it’s nice to know that there’s something  Eagles and Cowboys fans can agree on, and that’s Parsons’ ability to dominate in this league. His two sacks against Tom Brady on Sunday brought his career total to 15, making him one of only five players in NFL history to reach that total in their first 17 games (John Abraham, Joey Bosa, Jevon Kearse, and Aldon Smith).

"“I mean Micah Parsons is an alien. Is there a limit on this message? I can go on.”"

Long is right. Hopefully, his voicemail gets to whoever the head honcho is. If you want to call, go for it: 689-278-3030. Tell them we sent you.
