Soooo … one of my bold predictions last week for the Dallas Cowboys was somewhat true; Ezekiel Elliott seemed to look like his old self again, and ran very well against a tough Buccaneers defensive front.

He wasn’t able to get over 100 yards, though, thanks once again to Cowboys offensive coordinator Kellen Moore abandoning the run.

This week, the Cowboys have another big test ahead of them in the form of facing the Cincinnati Bengals — not to mention the fact that they will be doing so without their franchise quarterback in Dak Prescott, who’s out with a fractured thumb for at least the next six weeks (at best).

This week in our bold predictions, we are putting a real focus on ways this Cowboys team will be able to improve after their performance on Sunday Night Football last week. Without further ado, here are this week’s four bold predictions for the Cowboys vs Bengals Week 2 matchup.

4. CeeDee Lamb Bounces Back

Last week wasn’t a good start for the Cowboys’ new No. 1 receiver CeeDee Lamb, who was only able to make two catches for 29 yards on 11 targets. You have to give credit where credit is due, and Carlton Davis did a nice job on Lamb Sunday night. Still, if Lamb is going to in be the Cowboys’ future plans as their top receiver, he’s going to need to make catches when the ball is thrown his way.

With last week being the first game of the season, and with a ton of pressure on the Cowboys’ new top receiver, I’m willing to give him the benefit of the doubt that the pressure to perform messed with his game.

This week, though, I see Lamb bouncing back, even with Cooper Rush as his quarterback. In fact, the last time Lamb posted a 100-yard performance was with Rush at the helm last season against the Minnesota Vikings.

I see them bringing that connection back this weekend.

Game Prediction: CeeDee Lamb will go off for over 100 yards and a touchdown
