Cowboys vs Bengals: “Under the Radar” Players

Dallas Cowboys: Donovan Wilson, S

Cincinnati Bengals: Tyler Boyd, WR

Trevon Diggs will get the majority of reps against Bengals wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase in a great matchup of young and explosive NFL talent on both sides of the ball. Chase can take the top off of a defense and Diggs has the speed to run with just about any wide receiver.

That adds another layer of importance to Donovan Wilson on Sunday. Wilson is coming off of a strong game on Sunday night as he was third on the team in tackles and had stellar coverage a few times, even intercepting Tom Brady. The Bengals boast a strong wide receiver group and Wilson will be tasked with monitoring balls over the top and down the middle of the field.

That talented receiving core consists of Tee Higgins and Tyler Boyd out wide alongside Chase. Boyd provided four catches and one touchdown last week after Higgins left the game with a concussion.

Higgins will be a key in the game plan this week as the Bengals look to slow down Burrow’s interceptions. With Higgins in the concussion protocol and even more eyes turn to Chase, Higgins’ impact on this game looms large. In terms of fascinating matchups, the Cowboys’ secondary and Bengals’ receivers are top tier.

Extra: keep an eye on Bengals’ new long snapper Cal Adomitis. Starting long snapper Clark Harris tore his bicep and they will call on the rookie for snapping duties after their backup snapper had a part in two uncharacteristically missed field goals last weekend.
