Cowboys vs Buccaneers Week 1: history, key players, projection

Cowboys vs Buccaneers: “Under the Radar” Players
Dallas Cowboys: Dalton Schultz, TE
Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Julio Jones, WR
The biggest question mark around the Cowboys has been the wide receiver group. Amari Cooper is in Cleveland, Michael Gallup is rehabbing his ACL (albeit extremely positive news coming on that front), and James Washington is out with a foot injury. That leaves the Cowboys with incredibly talented CeeDee Lamb and a group of rather unproven youngsters and rookies.
Enter Dalton Schultz. The tight end had a career year last season with 78 receptions for 808 yards and eight touchdowns. He is one of Prescott’s favorite targets and it could be suspected he will be relied on heavily in the passing game. Their connection has been chronicled this preseason and should continue to be strong. Schultz isn’t the fastest or biggest tight end but he is very surehanded and steady. His performance Sunday night could be an X-factor for the Cowboys offensively.
It feels a bit odd writing about Julio Jones as an “under-the-radar” type player, but at this juncture of his career with some miles on him, he isn’t what he used to be. He is still supremely talented but only joined the Bucs just over a month ago.
Everyone knows Mike Evans and Chris Godwin are stars at receiver, but with Godwin and Russell Gage listed as questionable, Jones could see some playing time and be a big target for Brady.
