We know what you’re thinking. What on Earth does pop/country sensation Taylor Swift have to do with the Dallas Cowboys? Normally, nothing.

But a conspiracy theory is circling the internet about the music superstar and the correlation between her album release years and how the Cowboys do in those years. The albums may be great, but the records for Dallas in those seasons are not. All of a sudden the Cowboys and T-Swift have Bad Blood.

You’d think Taylor belonged with the Cowboys given she filmed her entire Netflix Reputation Stadium Tour Special at AT&T Stadium, but I guess not.

Blogging the Boys manager RJ Ochoa did a little experiment when the pop icon surprised her fans and revealed that she would be releasing a new album called “Midnight” this October. Swift has released eight albums since 2006 (keep in mind Ochoa did not include any of the “Taylor’s Version” album re-records Swift put out last year, only new albums).

In two of those years, the Cowboys had a losing record. Three of them had an even 8-8. Three had winning records, but the team only made the playoffs twice. The best album related to a Cowboys season was Swift’s “1989” album, which is ironic since you have to go just about that far back to get to the last time Dallas won a Super Bowl.

The “1989” album was released in 2014 and that year the Cowboys went 12-4. Dallas ended up losing in the divisional round of the playoffs to the Green Bay Packers.

Will Taylor Swift’s new 2022 album mean bad luck for the Dallas Cowboys?

Speaking of the Packers… if anyone is going to turn this curse into a Love Story, it’s apparently former Green Bay coach Mike McCarthy.

Ochoa really was Fearless about going in-depth with this conspiracy.

Swift released two albums in McCarthy’s first three years with Aaron Rodgers. The first album was “Fearless,” which came out in the duo’s first year together. In 2009 The Packers went 6-10. However, the February after Swift released “Speak Now” in 2011, McCarthy and Rodgers won a Super Bowl.

Right before McCarthy’s first year with Prescott, she released “Lover.” The Cowboys went 6-10. So, by Ochoa’s conspiracy algorithm, does that mean the third year and the release of “Midnight” will mean a Super Bowl for Dallas?!

Probably not, but the research is fascinating.

Hopefully, Sparks Fly for the Cowboys and they get a major boost from Swift’s October album. Get ready for the 22 season, Cowboys fans.
