2. Dan Quinn’s Defense

The long-awaited sequel to a breakout defensive season for Dallas will be on full display in no time, and they will have some big tests right away. Defensive coordinator Dan Quinn will prepare his guys for Tom Brady and Joe Burrow in the first two weeks, which is a tough task.

With minimal expectations heading into last season, the Quinn-led defense blew people away. They lead the league in takeaways and finished top 10 in total yards allowed. Quite frankly, nobody could have predicted that.

Micah Parsons and Trevon Diggs paved the way in many aspects for the Cowboys, and both guys are poised to do it again in 2022. In fact, Parsons has supreme confidence that he will do just that.

With key veterans like DeMarcus Lawrence and Jayron Kearse also coming back, this team could once again be menacing on defense. Whether or not they can put up the same level of production may be tough, especially considering guys like Randy Gregory won’t be coming back, but they should produce at a very high level regardless.

The Cowboys’ entire identity for a long time now has been exclusively offensive. That tide may start to turn this year, especially with so many injuries and off-season departures on the offensive side.
