Running Back (3):

Ezekiel Elliott
Tony Pollard
Malik Davis

No matter what anyone’s opinion on Ezekiel Elliott is, the Cowboys still see him as the focal point of their offense. Team owner Jerry Jones even went as far as to say “we go as Zeke goes,” which isn’t true. This offense goes as Prescott goes, which is why he’s a $40 million quarterback.

Still, they do love to use the run game and Elliott is going to continue to be their No. 1 back. They should use Tony Pollard more since he’s a threat to take it the distance whenever he touches the ball but they have a plan there as well.

Dallas has been using Pollard as a receiver during camp, which isn’t a bad idea at all. He lined up out wide for Memphis during his collegiate days and with Michael Gallup and James Washington injured, they can use the help.

This also allows them to use both Pollard and Elliott at the same time, giving opposing defenses more to think about.

As for the third back, Malik Davis makes the cut in this prediction ahead of Rico Dowdle. While Dowdle has experience in the system, he’s also been battling injuries dating back to his days with South Carolina.

Davis was also very impressive in the preseason. He showed decisiveness and power with his runs, proving he’s ready for a shot in the NFL.
