The NFL regular season is fast approaching, and the Dallas Cowboys and their NFC East rivals are working to finalize their rosters.

While the Cowboys haven’t been severely bitten by the injury bug some of the teams in the same division can’t say the same. It’s time to take a look around the rest of the NFC East to get a feel for how the rival rosters are shaping up and what we can expect to see from them when they face off against the Cowboys later this season.

How do the Cowboys stack up with the current state of the NFC East?

New York Giants

Key Losses: James Bradberry (CB), Jabrill Peppers (S), Evan Engram (TE), Logan Ryan (CB)

Key Additions: Matt Breida (RB), Tyrod Taylor (QB), Kayvon Thibodeaux (OLB), Evan Neal (T)

Injuries: Kayvon Thibodeaux (Knee), Sterling Shepard (Achilles), Dane Belton (Collarbone), Darrian Beavers (Knee), Marcus McKethan (Knee)

Of all the teams in the NFC East that have been dealt blow after blow in the injury department, the Giants have been hit the hardest. Most recently, their 2022 first-round pick Kayvon Thibodeaux went down with a scary knee injury that will have him missing 3-4 weeks. They’ve also lost a starting offensive guard and linebacker for the year which will hurt them going into the season.

They are also dealing with very up and down quarterback play from former first-round pick Daniel Jones who hasn’t looked the greatest since entering the league. Even with a new head coach and offensive guru in Brian Daboll, Jones is likely the weakest quarterback in the NFC East.

It’s gotten to the point where backup QB Tyrod Taylor has been spotted taking snaps with the first-string offense. Put it all together and this Giants team looks like it will be relying heavily on their defense to keep them in games with a shaky offensive line and questionable quarterback play.

The Cowboys should have two easy Ws in Weeks 3 and 12.
