2. Jerry Jones believes the 2022 roster is better than 2021

While owner and general manager Jerry Jones is known for his optimistic outlook, his belief that the 2022 roster would be better than the Cowboys in 2021 was a surprise.

Now, the Dallas roster is definitely younger than last season. However, being a more youthful team does not improve the overall team. At least not until there is proven production on the field.

Jones is correct. The Cowboys did not know what they had in linebacker Micah Parsons this time last year. However, none of the new pieces added in the offseason are like a Parsons — at least not right now.

There is hope every year that the team always will get better. It is just hard to envision a better roster when players like La’el Collins, Randy Gregory, Amari Cooper, Greg Zuerlein, and Cedrick Wilson are off the team.

Jones is great when it comes to making deals and presenting an opportunity. This might be the first time he makes a statement that is hard to sell before fans see it and believe it.
