The success of the Dallas Cowboys in the 2022 season will rely heavily on the success of quarterback Dak Prescott. The Cowboys go as Prescott goes. So what can we expect from the 28-year-old QB this upcoming season? Now that he has a fully healthy offseason for the first time in a few years, I hope we get the best version of Prescott yet.

The Cowboys passer has been telling reporters how confident and great he fills so far this offseason and the team has already said that they plan to use him as more of the mobile quarterback he was thanks to his clean bill of health.

With that being said, I want to look at some realistic goals the QB can achieve in 2022. They are all statistical achievements. Let’s take a look.

3. Achieving a 70% completion percentage

Last season, Prescott completed 68.8% of his passes which ranked fourth in the NFL. It is fair to expect him to push that number up to 70% this season. Prescott will have a slightly new receiving corps to work with but that should not downgrade his completion percentage.

His true completion percentage last year was 74.0%. That factors in what his completion percentage would be if you take out dropped passes and unpressured throwaways. The Cowboys receivers have struggled with drops in recent years, so a correction in that category will help Prescott reach that 70%.

One way Prescott can improve is in his clean pocket completion percentage. Last season, the QB1 had a 71.9% clean pocket completion percentage which was 11th in the NFL. Prescott is capable of being top five in that category, so seeing that number increase in 2022 will help his overall completion percentage.

Only one starting QB last season reached that 70% threshold, which was Joe Burrow who completed 70.4% of his throws. Now, the Cowboys quarterback will look to become a member of that group in 2022.
