Millions of football fans watched as Dallas Cowboys linebacker Micah Parsons dominated on the football field in his rookie season. The unanimous Defensive Rookie of the Year earned high praise for his Swiss Army knife versatility and his impressive competitiveness.

But Cowboys fans also found out that Parsons is excellent at far more than just football. He is a serious chess player. He is an impressive bowler. He beat Dez Bryant in several Madden video game battles. He hits homers with ease in charity baseball games. He was a top wrestler in Pennsylvania growing up. You get the point.

Now, we are learning about another sport he excels at: basketball. On June 30, Parsons sent out a tweet asking his followers where he could rent a basketball court for a couple of hours. Unsurprisingly, three days later, videos emerged of the linebacker playing pick-up hoops at a gym with friends and teammates.

The video below is from Parsons’ Instagram account. It shows the linebacker dribbling the ball and facing a defender at the 3-point line. In a swift move, he easily jukes his defender on his way to a lay-up. Whoever was recording the video let out an “Oh my G**!”

Once again, we find ourselves asking the question, “Is there anything this kid can’t do?” He’s unstoppable on the football field, and just about everywhere else. Some fans saw this video and absolutely panicked, replying to the tweet by saying the linebacker better not hurt himself ahead of training camp. That’s a fair concern. But it just seems like Parsons can’t calm his competitiveness, even in the offseason.

While a handful of his teammates are off traveling the world to take advantage of the time off before training camp, the Penn State product is still finding ways to stay active and win at something. It’s worth noting that he did get stopped once by cornerback Jourdan Lewis, but for all we know, that was the only time he was well defended in the hours they were playing.

And his need to compete isn’t just apparent in his actions. The Cowboys linebacker has also been speaking with reporters and telling them about his mindset heading into 2022. Even though the season is still more than two months away, Parsons said he’s preparing to break the NFL sack record this season. He even set himself a minimum of 15 sacks for 2022.

Fans and football analysts certainly have high expectations for the linebacker in his second year. But perhaps nobody wants more from the Cowboys LB than himself. And until he gets a chance to get back onto the football field, expect him to find other ways to feed his competitive drive.
