2. Ezekiel Elliott, Running Back

No matter how you might feel about Elliott’s contract status and his future with the team, he has been one of the most reliable fantasy running backs throughout his career. He has finished as a top-10 fantasy RB every year of his career except in 2020 when he was 11th.

Elliott is expected to come into 2022 as the No. 1 guy once again and he should be in for a heavy workload. Last season, he finished as the sixth-ranked running back despite suffering a PCL injury early in the year that hampered him most of the season.

I expect Elliott to once again be a top-10 fantasy RB in 2022. That may be a surprise to some, but he will continue to be the workhorse in Dallas with Pollard spelling him on occasion. The Cowboys have too much invested in Elliott not to play him, for better or worse.

In a recent fantasy mock draft on ESPN.com, Elliott was drafted in the fifth round at 47th overall. That is too late in my opinion. If you can get him there in your draft then more power to you, but Elliott should be selected no later than the third round in most leagues. I would be targeting Elliott as a fringe top-10 fantasy RB. If you can get him as your team’s RB2 you should be ecstatic about that.
