1. Tony Romo, QB, 2004-2016

Tony Romo was an undrafted free agent out of Eastern Illinois who would go on to win Cowboys fans hearts after 13 seasons with the team.

After zero games started in his first two seasons, the third-year QB won the job over Cowboys veteran Drew Bledsoe. Although it took him some time to get his start, he would be a constant figure in the organization for many years.

Many may express their displeasure with Romo over his famous botched snap or his lack of playoff success, but the stats show otherwise. He may not have brought home titles and awards like Roger Staubach or Troy Aikman, but that shouldn’t discredit what he did for this franchise.

Romo is currently the franchise leader in passing yards (34,183) and touchdown passes (248). He is second all-time in completions with 2,829. The Cowboys legend was a true diamond in the rough.
