After getting snubbed in his first chance to enter the Hall of Fame this year, Ware shouldn’t be snubbed by the organization he gave nine amazing years to as well. The proof is in the stats and the numerous awards he received for his achievements.

After a 12-year career, he collected seven All-Pro selections, nine Pro Bowl nods, was a league sack leader in two seasons, won the Butkus Award twice, and landed a spot on the NFL 2000s All-Decade team. The linebacker legend racked up 117 sacks, which still remains the most in franchise history.

After leaving Dallas, he went to Denver and in just three seasons, added 21.5 more and helped the Broncos win a Super Bowl. He had a whopping seven consecutive 10+ sack seasons in his time with the Cowboys.

Ware added more than just sacks. He also had 35 forced fumbles, 171 tackles for loss, 229 quarterback hits, and 25 passes defended in his tenure. His speed, agility, and quickness helped him stand out from other defenders in the league.

How he didn’t make the HoF on his first try is still a mystery to many, but he certainly deserves to end up in the Ring of Honor one day in the future, too.
