1. Carlos Watkins, DT
This Cowboys front office has made it a point to solidify the interior of their defensive line by bringing in bigger defensive tackles than the previous regime. That effort has started to round into form with Neville Gallimore, Trysten Hill, Osa Odighizuwa, Quinton Bohanna, and now John Ridgeway. That young and talented group could be what pushes Dallas to move on from Watkins who hasn’t really played the best, and quite frankly is playing out of position in the eyes of some.
WR James Washington was out of the protective boot but was getting rehab work. Rookie DE Sam Williams also out today with undisclosed health issues. DT Carlos Watkins and LB Jabril Cox continue to rehab from injuries.

It really doesn’t help that Watkins is currently rehabbing on the sidelines while these younger defensive tackles are taking snaps and putting the play in film for the coaches. Watkins was already outplayed by Odighizuwa last season and now he may not even be a part of the team if they continue to get better during the offseason. He’s only on a one-year deal so it wouldn’t hurt the Cowboys if they were to let him go.
