When the 2022 NFL schedule dropped for the Dallas Cowboys, there were four games that I immediately saw being a problem for the team, especially for quarterback Dak Prescott. Going up against three future Hall of Fame quarterbacks and tough defensive lines isn’t a good combination for Prescott and the Cowboys. If Dallas is going to pull out wins in these games, they will need a focused and healthy Prescott to lead them on offense, which he can do.

But let’s take a look at these four teams and why they concern me more than the rest of the games on the Cowboys schedule this season.

Four games that will be particularly tough for Cowboys QB Dak Prescott in 2022

Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Week 1

2021 Record: 13-4

Key Additions: Leonard Fournette (RB), Logan Ryan (CB), Russell Gage (WR), Keanu Neal (S)

Key Losses: Alex Cappa (G), Jordan Whitehead (S), Ronald Jones (RB), O.J. Howard (TE)

Reason for Concern for Prescott: Anytime your quarterback is facing off against a person who some consider the greatest quarterback of all time, there is going to be a considerable amount of pressure for the opposing QB to step up his game. Plus, the added element of this game being a rematch of a contest that came down to a game-winning drive from Brady last season makes it even more intense.

Brady alone isn’t the only concern for Prescott, though. The Cowboys’ offensive line has also undergone an overhaul and they will be starting a rookie left guard in Tyler Smith. We can assume that Smith will immediately be tested by the Buccaneers with their star defensive tackle in Vita Vea whose blend of power and speed has been a problem for most veteran interior linemen.

With concerns about the rookie and center Tyler Biadasz, Prescott could be seeing a lot of pressure up the middle. That doesn’t bode well against the Bucs’ impressive talent at the pass rusher position. The Cowboys are going to need to come up with a quick-strike game plan in order to negate the threat of the aggressive pass rush that will be sent at Prescott.
