Final 2022 NFC East Standings Prediction:

  1. Philadelphia Eagles
  2. Dallas Cowboys
  3. Washington Commanders
  4. New York Giants

Let’s tackle the elephant in the room. Philly on top right there stings. It does. There is nothing on this planet worse to see than the Eagles’ successes. But I also promised to be realistic. That means I have to realize that no team has repeated as NFC East kings since 2004. Nearly two decades of evidence show that someone else will unseat Dallas this year.

If I am being really honest, Philadelphia also took more steps forward than Dallas did this offseason. Dallas didn’t get worse, but the Eagles just made bigger strides.

Before we sound the fire alarms, Dallas gets into the playoffs as a Wild Card. With the seven-team format, their 4-2 NFC East record paired with their overall record should propel them into the playoffs. On the Eagles slide, I think Dallas wins the second matchup in Week 16 and does so in the midst of a hot streak gearing up for the playoffs.

I want to be wrong here and would love another season of running the table in the division on the way to another divisional title and playoff berth. But, the NFL is an unpredictable, parity-driven, ever-changing league. Hopefully, the ‘Boys can get it done in 2022.
