Outside Looking In Receivers

Ty Fryfogle, TJ Vasher, Jaquarii Roberson, Dennis Houston

With twelve receivers currently in Dallas, the unfortunate reality of a few being on the outside looking in is one of the harsh truths of the NFL. With the Cowboys only carrying eight total in 2021, this exercise leaves four out.

That said, Ty Fryfogle is my dark horse, and even fan-favorite to make the roster. Being a Big Ten fan, he has proven himself against some dominant defenses like the Iowa Hawkeyes and Ohio State Buckeyes. He isn’t the best at any certain skillset, but he just “finds a way” and that is sometimes not coachable but an innate ability.

Let me be clear: I don’t want any of these guys to miss the roster. As a former collegiate receiver myself, my mind says the Cowboys should carry all 12, but that isn’t how the business of the NFL works. If any of these underdogs can steal a spot on the Cowboys or another NFL roster, they’ve got my fandom.
