3 roster bubble candidates the Cowboys should keep an eye on
2. Lloyd Cushenberry III, Center
Height: 6’3″ Weight: 312lbs
Career Stats: 32 games played and started
It’s not too often that you see a second-year player already being talked about as a bust, especially along the offensive line. That’s not the case for Cushenberry III who has manned the center of the Denver Broncos offensive line since being drafted in 2020. Under new head coach Nathaniel Hackett, the offensive scheme is sure to change which means the types of offensive linemen needed may differ as well.
With the chatter about Cushenberry III and the Broncos taking center Luke Wattenberg in this year’s draft, there may be a chance that Cushenberry III could be on the block or just cut all together.
Now, the Cowboys’ interest will weigh on how much they really trust Tyler Biadasz at center or if they believe second-year offensive lineman Matt Farniok can win the job. If they aren’t happy with either, then a play for Cushenberry would make sense. He would fit their power zone blocking scheme and add more size up the middle as well. It would also be ironic that they would make a move for a player at the same position and same draft as Biadasz to replace him.
