1. Cade Otton, TE, Washington

Perhaps the most pressing need still on the board is tight end. After the Cowboys cut Blake Jarwin due to injury concerns, essentially the only solid player in the TE corps is Dalton Schultz. Jeremy Sprinkle and Sean McKeon did virtually nothing for the Cowboys last year, and this team needs more help, especially given the fact that Schultz still hasn’t signed a long-term deal with Dallas. Sadly, a guy we really liked for the Cowboys, Jeremy Ruckert, was taken off the board at the very end of Round 3. However, Washington’s Cade Otton still has a lot to offer.

The 6-5, 320-pound tight end was a four-year starter in the PAC-12. He plays wisely and is quick off the line. Unlike Schultz, Otton is a solid blocker in both the run and pass game, which the Cowboys could certainly use. He has the size, strength, and technique to form into a great NFL tight end.

Otton is a competitive player who tries to get involved in every single snap, whether it’s as a catcher or a blocker. He runs great routes and has good hands to go along with his ability. Although several tight ends are off the board, Otton would be a great addition to Dallas. Giving him the opportunity to learn under Schultz would certainly help him grow as a pro.
