5. Round 5, Pick 178: John Ridgeway, DT, Arkansas

We already know the Jones family has a long history with players from Arkansas, so this pick makes a ton of sense. The Cowboys add much-needed defensive tackle depth from a school that Jerry loves. Ridgeway will get a chance to compete with Carlos Watkins and Osa Odhigizuwa for a spot on the defensive line.

The DT transferred to Arkansas after three seasons with Illinois State. Even though he was only there for one year, he made an immediate impact. The 6-6, 320-pound defensive lineman started 11 games and collected 39 tackles, four TFLs, and two sacks. He also excelled against top competition, collecting a season-high seven tackles against the national champion Georgia Bulldogs.

Ridgeway brings great strength, flexibility, and good hands to the Cowboys’ defense to go along with his imposing size. He has the traits that NFL teams desire and can certainly be molded into a pro-caliber starter. The Razorback will be another mauler on the defensive line for Dallas.

Cowboys, Devin Harper

6. Round 6, Pick 193: Devin Harper, LB, Oklahoma State

Although many Cowboys fans were hoping the team would take a kicker with their final pick of the 2022 NFL Draft (and there were some good ones available), the Cowboys decided to go with another linebacker with their final selection. Unsurprisingly, Harper was a guy Dallas had their eyes on. He had an official visit at The Star.

The Oklahoma State linebacker is going from one Cowboys team to another. Harper is 6-0, 235-pounds and was the second-best tackler for OSU in 2021. Last year, the linebacker had an impressive 95 tackles, 11 tackles for loss, six sacks, two fumble recoveries, and a forced fumble. His teammates also voted him as team captain.

An impressive fact about Harper is his a 9.49 RAS score, which is incredibly high. The average for linebackers was 4.93. In other words, he may need more development, but he has a lot to offer. Harper will likely spend time on the practice squad and may make some special teams reps in 2022. Getting the chance to develop under a stellar defensive roster is a great opportunity for the OSU product.

In summary, here is your Dallas Cowboys 2022 draft class.
