Round 2, Pick 40: Kenyon Green, Guard, Texas A&M

Well, this would be quite the prize, wouldn’t it? After passing on Texas A&M guard Kenyon Green at 24 (much to the fans’ dismay I would imagine), the Cowboys make a move up for him as he slips into the second round. Is this unlikely? Probably. But recent reports suggest this may be much more possible than we think right now.

Green, an expected late first-round pick, seems to have a medical issue with his knee, and if there is anything we have learned from recent drafts, guys with medical problems almost always drop.

It has seemed possible for a few weeks now that Dallas could look to move up in this draft, and considering their clear interest in Green and the desperate need for offensive line help, this makes sense. Green would enter as a starter on day one barring further developments with his knee.

Green has a huge frame and powerful hands, he can play tackle or guard, his run blocking skills are elite, and most importantly, he was born and raised in Texas and we know the Jones family loves that.

All jokes aside, Green is a first-round prospect at the Cowboys’ biggest position of need, and he may now slip out of the first round. If he does and Dallas decides not to make a move, they might end up regretting it.
