4. Zion Johnson, Guard, Boston College

Career Stats: 58 games played, 49 career starts (26 left guard, 13 left tackle, 10 right tackle)

What if I told you the Cowboys have been fooling us all and instead of leaning towards Kenyon Green (like the media outlets and myself have been saying), they are actually targeting Johnson? He’s an athletic and strong guard who can play all positions on the offensive line, including center, which he showed off at the Senior Bowl. He is a very smart player and having that ability to learn and adapt on the fly could be a valuable asset in the eyes of the Cowboy’s front office.

Many analysts think that Johnson will still be available for Dallas at No. 24, but there are rumors that the Arizona Cardinals are very high on Johnson. If the Cowboys want to draft him, they will need to jump ahead of Arizona at 23, which shouldn’t cost them as much draft capital as the other players would.

With their first pick not coming until 24th overall, it’s been harder than most years to predict what the Cowboys will do. But knowing the Joneses, expecting some kind of splash move seems reasonable. We will see how the 2022 NFL Draft plays out for Dallas.
