2. Trevor Penning, OT, Northern Iowa

Height: 6’7″ Weight: 325lbs

Career Stats: 37 games played, 33 career starts (31 left tackle, 1 right tackle, 1 right guard)

Trevor Penning is another left tackle that was connected to the Cowboys early in the draft process as a player that could be there for them at 24th overall. That has since changed after Penning’s impressive interviews at the NFL Combine and 30-day visits. Now, if the Cowboys would like to get him if he slides a bit, they will have to move up because he won’t slide all the way to the 24th pick.

Penning is a physical mauler who would bring the attitude the Dallas front office has been talking about all offseason. With a little refinement to his game, he could become the answer for the offensive line at left tackle.

Penning also has some experience playing at guard, so while he gets acclimated to the NFL game, he can earn his stripes playing at guard just like Cross. His mauler mentality would match the current right guard for the Cowboys Zack Martin and give this offense a dominant running game once again.
