The Dallas Cowboys should have their big board all set up for the upcoming 2022 NFL Draft which begins on Thursday. For Dallas, the players that they bring in on their 30 official pre-draft prospect visits tend to be a good indicator of who they will select. However, the Cowboys will only be able to select a handful of players and they only have one pick in the first round.

The Cowboys need a starting left guard and another starting wide receiver, both of which will be high on their priority list in the early rounds. Since Dallas has done essentially nothing in free agency (as always) they must use their draft picks to find impact starters.

Since this team tends to lean towards prospects who get official visits, we wanted to create a big board based on the list of invites. Without further ado, here is a look at the top five players on the Cowboys’ big board based on prospect visits.

5. Devin Lloyd, Linebacker, Utah

Even though linebacker is not a top concern on the Dallas roster, it is still a need. Lloyd is a consensus top-two linebacker in this class and can simply do it all. He is a very good athlete which allows him to move from sideline to sideline with ease. Also, he is a physical linebacker that will come up and thump people.

Lloyd will fit perfectly next to Micah Parsons because he is a more traditional linebacker. Parsons can also get more snaps at edge rusher with the addition of Lloyd. The Utah linebacker only ran a 4.6-second 40-yard dash at the NFL Combine, which is not great for a linebacker, but he played a lot faster than that last season.

Lloyd showed tremendous ability in coverage last season. His football IQ is tremendous and his production was elite. Some key stats of Lloyd’s were 111 total tackles, eight sacks, and four interceptions. He clearly has some pass-rush ability as well by looking at his eight sacks. He is a plug-and-play Week 1 starter and the Cowboys should be happy to make him their pick at 24th overall.
