A player that many people either don’t know or may have forgotten about is Larry Brown, and he comes in at No. 10. While his career in Dallas lasted just five years, his impact was essential to the Cowboys’ success.

He finished fourth in the Defensive Rookie of the Year voting after being a 12th (yes, 12th) round pick in 1991. He went on to become one of the team’s best defensive players, helping them win three Super Bowls and winning Super Bowl XXX MVP.

Brown did leave after a six-interception season in 1995, but came back and finished his career in Dallas for the 1998 season. He retired with 317 tackles and 14 interceptions, two of them being for touchdowns.

Our No. 9 player on the greatest Cowboy draft picks is an oldie but a goodie: Lee Roy Jordan. Jordan was drafted with the sixth pick in the 1963 NFL Draft. In his rookie season, he recorded three interceptions in just eight games.

He would be a mainstay at linebacker for the ‘Boys for the next 14 seasons and was selected to five Pro Bowls in the process. He finished his career with 32 interceptions (three for touchdowns) and 19.5 sacks.
