Micah Parsons NFL Draft hype video should fire Cowboys fans up
The NFL, like the rest of Cowboys Nation, seems to love Dallas Cowboys linebacker Micah Parsons given they continually use him for draft advertising material. Jacksonville Jaguars QB Trevor Lawrence may have been the outright first-overall pick, but you don’t see his face all over the ads for the 2022 NFL Draft.
Last week, the league used his “Hey Rookie, Welcome to the NFL,” segment in a tweet to get fans excited for the emotional moments collegiate prospects go through when they get drafted. Parsons even retweeted the video saying how impactful that moment was in his life.
Now, the NFL has posted a hype video about the Cowboys linebacker to get football fans excited about the draft, too. We can’t really blame the league’s social media team. Parsons is a great example of someone who wasn’t necessarily the No. 1 overall pick, but still had an incredible breakout season. In fact, there were some Cowboys fans who felt like the Penn State product was actually the wrong choice at the time (who are now certainly eating their words).
After being drafted 12th overall, the Pennsylvania product displayed arguably one of the greatest rookie campaigns in recent NFL history, catching eyes all over the world. Acting as a versatile, Swiss Army knife for the Dallas defense, Parsons collected three forced fumbles, 13.0 sacks, 84 combined tackles, and 30 QB hits. He also ended the year as the first-ever unanimous Defensive Rookie of the Year and placed second in the Defensive Player of the Year votes. On paper, he is what the draft is all about: giving a kid a chance and them living up to their potential.

NFL makes hype video about Cowboys linebacker Micah Parsons to promote the 2022 NFL Draft
The one-minute video goes through Parsons’ football career so far from his college days at Penn State to him accepting the award for Defensive Rookie of the Year. The beginning has a quote from Parsons’ speech where he shouts out kids from Pennsylvania and says “this is hope that we can all do it one day.”
Then, we get taken through a montage of some of his best tackles and sacks, including several against Kansas City Chiefs’ star QB Patrick Mahomes. What this video shows best is the linebacker’s ability to truly be all over the field. He’s taking down running backs, wide receivers, quarterbacks, and literally everyone who gets in his way.
Despite a brutal offseason for the Cowboys so far, it’s nice to know their first draft pick from last year has become the poster child for the NFL Draft. The video ends with a sound bite of Parsons thanking Cowboys Nation for believing in him, drafting him, and supporting him.
