Third Round – Wide Receiver

The third position that is a big need just happens to be one that the Cowboys have suffered the most loss in. Dallas lost three receivers this offseason with the main one being their No. 1 receiver in Amari Cooper (Browns). They also lost their third/fourth receiver in Cedrick Wilson (Dolphins) and most recently Malik Turner (49ers). The team did bring back Michael Gallup, but he’s recovering from an ACL injury. Dallas also signed James Washington but his production on the field doesn’t negate what the Cowboys lost.

This draft is very deep at receiver this season, so waiting until the third round will not hurt the Cowboys. They might not get the best of the best, but they can still get a quality player that can come in and contribute early. Don’t be surprised if the team comes back later in the draft and selects another receiver. The draft pool is that deep.

Next best option if wiped out: Tight End

Reason: There will be a run on tight ends and it could start in the middle of the third round. If they really like someone they may have to take him early.
